Balanced tourism is particularly challenging in urban areas, where the density of tourists and locals is especially high. Solutions require careful planning and cooperation between a wide range of stakeholders. Balanced tourism not only helps to maintain the quality of life of residents, but also ensures that cities remain attractive to tourists in the long term. Effective communication is crucial for the success of balanced tourism. It goes far beyond marketing and serves as a tool to guide, raise awareness and engage all stakeholders. Communication can help to strike a balance between the needs of tourists, the local population and the environment, paving the way for sustainable and future-proof tourism.
