Innovation is the key to successful tourism development. Promoting this is one of the tasks that Vorarlberg Tourism has taken on with the implementation of the Vorarlberg Tourism Strategy 2030. To this end, a new project was launched in October 2024: Reallabor Vorarlberg - a cooperation project with the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt - focuses on sustainable habitat development. The project, led by Harald Pechlaner, is initially planned to run for 1.5 years; together with students on the Master's degree programme "Transformation and Sustainable Habitat Development - Redesigning Tourism", he is working on sustainability, crises, the economy, health and demographic shifts. The Reallabor Vorarlberg aims to take a reflective look at change and, in close cooperation with Vorarlberg Tourism, to create a climate of innovation and thus make an important contribution to shaping the living environment. Harald Pechlaner is supported in his Insight by his two students Johanna Kamala and Ronja Schneider.
