Vorarlberg holiday regions
Thanks to the Bregenz Festival, the internationally renowned Kunsthaus Bregenz and numerous events, Bregenz is considered the cultural capital of Lake Constance. The historic upper town with its landmark Martinsturm tower provides a tranquil counterpoint to the bustling life in the centre. The Pfänder, Bregenz's local mountain at 1,064 metres: an unforgettable experience is the ride on the modern, comfortable gondola of the Pfänder panorama lift, which silently climbs the most beautiful vantage point on Lake Constance in just a few minutes.
The Festspielhaus Bregenz is consistently pursuing the green path - and with success
The efforts in terms of climate protection and sustainability are impressive: since 2010, electricity consumption at the Festspielhaus has been reduced by 28 per cent, heat consumption has been cut from 1,900 to 1,400 megawatt hours and CO2 emissions have been reduced by almost a third. "A more than pleasing development," says Gerhard Stübe, Managing Director of Kongresskultur Bregenz and member of the e5 team of the city of Bregenz.
Just as hotels are awarded "stars", e5 municipalities are awarded one to five "e", depending on the degree of implementation of the possible energy efficiency measures. The city of Bregenz is the first provincial capital in Austria to receive the highest possible award of five "e" and is rewarded for its efforts in climate protection and sustainability.
Living sustainability
In order to protect this creative and living space in the best possible way, sustainability has been a top priority at Kongresskultur Bregenz for years. As a licence holder of the Austrian Ecolabel the Festspielhaus Bregenz team supports customers in the planning and organisation of Green Meetings and Green Events which pay particular attention to the conservation of resources and can certify them.
