More than just a scenery: World and Cultural Heritage

Workshop 1:

In this workshop, we will examine world and cultural heritage as a tension between conservation, identity, living space and tourism. Using examples from Austria, we will discuss sustainability, visitor management and value creation. The aim is to take a critical look at how cultural heritage can be transformed into credible, high-quality experiences.

How we can credibly promote year-round tourism

Workshop 2:

Year-round tourism is seen as key to sustainable tourism development. In this workshop, we will explore the ‘WHY’ behind this and develop approaches for credible communication with guests, businesses, stakeholders and local residents. The aim is to create powerful stories that resonate with specific target groups, going beyond conventional sustainability narratives.

Meaning as a resource – embedding sustainability with impact

Workshop 3:

Successfully driving sustainability requires direction, motivation and perseverance. In this workshop, we will explore the role of purpose and intrinsic motivation in change processes and examine how personal and organisational ‘WHY’ can help embed sustainability more effectively and sustainably within corporate culture.

This workshop is available in both sessions. Maximum 40 participants per session.

Learning from Research

Workshop 4:

How can research findings be used to drive sustainable tourism forward in practical terms? This workshop brings together academia and industry, presents the latest findings on future-oriented topics, and discusses how these can be applied to destinations and businesses. The aim is to highlight evidence-based approaches and foster new collaborations.
