STiAS 2026: A Green Event
Ein Zeichen für nachhaltiges Tagen
Introduction
We intend to have the 3rd Sustainable Tourism in Austria Summit certified as a Green Event once again, thereby setting an example for more sustainable conferences, a sustainable world and a more mindful use of resources.
Our efforts
The event will take place at the Tabakfabrik Linz. The venue is well connected to the public transport network. Bus route 12 (Parkbad stop)Bus route 25 (Parkbad stop)Bus route 26 (Lüfteneggerstraße stop)Bus route 27 (Lederergasse stop)
We recommend travelling by public transport to Linz Hauptbahnhof. Bus route 12 runs directly from the main station to the Tabakfabrik. Alternatively, the venue is also easily accessible by bike or on foot along the Danube. Both Donaulände and Gruberstraße have cycle lanes. There are plenty of bike parking spaces available at the Tabakfabrik.

TIM (täglich.intelligent.mobil) offers a dense network of car-sharing locations in Linz, providing a flexible complement to public transport.
The well-developed cycle path network along the Danube and in the city of Linz makes for a comfortable journey by bike.
For international participants, Vienna International Airport (Schwechat) is a possible connection point. From there, Linz can be reached by train in around 1 hour and 45 minutes. However, we recommend travelling by train wherever possible.
The ÖBB Nightjet offers a particularly convenient alternative for longer distances. Linz is part of the European night train network and is served regularly by international connections, meaning that numerous cities can be reached directly overnight.
During the event, particular attention will be paid to waste prevention and recycling. Reducing unnecessary packaging contributes significantly to waste prevention. Bins with a sorting system will be available on site for waste separation.
